Let’s Sidetrack Perfectionism
Verse: Colossians 1:21-23
Extra Scripture Readings:
When Caesar Ritz opened his Ritz Resort in Paris in 1898, this fastidious man sat at each desk within the eating room, measured its top to the precise centimeter and adjusted the legs if wanted. He slept in every mattress within the lodge, one per night time, and threw out the mattress if he didn’t sleep properly. Caesar Ritz was a perfectionist.
How many people are perfectionists? We so usually get hung up on serving a routine of perfectionism moderately than serving the God of grace. When our eyes are targeted on our unattainable requirements of efficiency, we miss his finest for us. We’re, in impact, rewriting his necessities.
When Paul writes that God will current us “holy in his sight, with out blemish and free from accusation” (Colossians 1:22), he doesn’t imply that we should one way or the other, a way, make ourselves excellent. That’s God’s job. However God guarantees that sooner or later, by way of the grace of Jesus’ demise on the cross, we are going to stand excellent earlier than him.
